I can't find any demos for Superior which seems to have a bigger fan base. The Jazz EZX sounds nice but the Addictive Jazz Brush sample sounds more genre-versatile to me. What I DO like is the way each pattern in EZ has easily accessed alternatives to avoid having to spend much time cutting up loops to give variety. Looking at the menu on the Nashville set and listening to the sample it's great quality but seems strictly Country (trainbeats etc.). Thanks for the full response and links (which I've checked). Then, I'd look into something like groovemonkee groove libraries for MIDI grooves to expand your groove libraries. Personally, I'd listen to the demos and watch the videos in the links above to get an idea of the sounds of each. There is also a Jazz SDX expansion pack specifically for S2 in the works with a much expanded library of kit pieces. These EZX are expansion packs for EZdrummer but can also be loaded in S2. Lots of improv grooves both for sticks as well a dedicated brush swirl grooves.

The MIDI is definitely aimed at the jazz genre. One is higher pitched: much more for jazz styles (18" Pearl Reference Series), and one is lower pitched that works for other styles. It also has great brush sounds for acoustic pop/jazz. The MIDI is aimed at county/pop/rock styles but there is quite a bit of meat and potatoes grooves.Īnother option would be the Jazz EZX. The room is really great sounding and Chuck Ainlay did a great job mixing the kit. Also some of the best stick sounds as well, IMO.

Not traditional jazz type brush sound with swirls and such but for other styles it is really nice. The Nashville EZX does have really nice brush sounds.
